Scholarships
Each year Council offers four (4) scholarships to students completing their higher school certificate and entering into university studies in a career field which has been identified as a skill shortage area within Local Government. Scholarship recipients receive $2,500 to assist them with the financial cost of study. The scholarship is paid in two halves - one payment of $1,250 on admission to university and the remaining 50% paid at the successful completion of the first year at university.
Scholarship recipients also have the opportunity to undertake paid employment with Wyong Shire Council during breaks from university, and may have an opportunity to continue employment at the conclusion of their first year at university.
Scholarship applications are being taken from students who are sitting for their Higher School Certificate in 2011 and heading to university in 2012. See additional information and an application form.
