Councillor Doug Eaton

A Councillor since 1991, he is Wyong Council's longest serving Councillor.

Mayor in 1996-97 when Council won the Bluett award for best council in NSW.

Doug has degrees in Commerce and in Law from the University of NSW.

Cr Eaton lives in Wyong and is a local businessman, owning Eatons Mitre 10 at Wyong and also having a conveyancing practice.

Doug is the Chair of Central Coast Group Training - the coasts largest employer of apprentices.

He is the treasurer of CC Business Enterprise Centre - assisting start up and small businesses.

Doug is the Chair of the Wyong Recreation Association.

He is the only councillor appointed to the state governments Joint Regional Planning Panel for Central Coast/Hunter region.

He has previously served as a member of the executive of the Local Government Association.

He has served on a large number of community groups and committees and is an alternate delegate to the Wyong Shire Senior Citizens Council.

Cr Eaton aims to bring a professional business approach to Council decisions. His current major project is the replacement of the Wyong Memorial Hall with a performing arts centre of around 450 seat capacity. He is deputy chair of Council's advisory committee on the proposed PAC.

In addition Doug has recently been in conjunction with Cr Best running the Where’s Warnervale public campaign to get the Warnervale town centre underway.

Doug attends the Ourimbah and Wattanobbi/Warnervale precinct committees regularly.

He is a playing member of Toukley Golf Club.
