Councillor John McNamara

Elected to the council in September 2008. Deputy Mayor 2008-09.

Councillor John McNamara has over 30 years of experience in senior business management roles ranging from transport to information technology and international telecommunications.

Since 2000, John, Karen and their two boys have lived at Warnervale. During this time they have been active in the community and especially sport. John is currently President of Warnervale Wildcats Sports Club. The club includes Rugby Union, Cricket and Netball clubs.

Councillor McNamara’s priorities include local job creation, new sporting fields, a new motor sports facility, no coal mine in our valleys and no coal loader at Blue Haven and better economic management of our rates.

Councillor McNamara serves on the Wyong Shire Sports Committee; the Central Coast Regional Organisation of Council; Gosford/Wyong Councils' Water Authority Board; Greater Toukley Vision Inc.; and is an alternate delegate for the Wyong Chamber of Commerce.
