Beaches
Wyong Shire is well known for its striking coastline, which boasts a host of beaches.
Lifeguards patrol six of the most popular swimming and surfing areas.

- The Entrance North
- The Entrance
- Toowoon Bay
- Shelly Beach
The beaches are patrolled for seven months of the year between the end of September and 25 April; excluding weekends and public holidays at which time the Shires beaches are patrolled by Surf Life Saving volunteers.
Hours of patrol:
- 8.30am - 5pm
- 8.30am - 6pm (Christmas holidays)
The National Parks and Wildlife Service also provides a lifeguard service at Frazer Beach in Lake Munmorah State Recreation Area during the Christmas, Easter and April School Holidays.
Make sure you:
- Always swim between the red and yellow flags.
- Read and obey water safety signs
- Check swimming conditions and water depth before swimming. Never dive head first.
- Swim under supervision or with a mate. Don't go in alone.
- Never swim directly after eating or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Learn how to recognise rips and keep clear of them. if in difficulty: stay calm, float with the current, call out for help and raise your arm if help is nearby.
