Quality of Life
In 2006 Wyong Shire Council joined the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Gosford City Council to identify what quality of life meant for local residents and to consider the best way to both measure and monitor it.
A framework was developed to research standard of living; achievements in life; personal relationships; community connectedness; feeling of safety; and future security.
The Central Coast Research Foundation was conducted the first Central Coast survey in 2007. 1,500 residents participated in the survey, with a response rate of 67%.
The information provides an important tool to help Council’s policy and planning decisions and establishes an important base-line measure of quality of life.
This research will provide greater insight into the influences of wellbeing and help identify issues that affect the way residents live.
