Porters Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study
The catchment of Porters Creek , near Wyong, covers about 55 square kilometres.
Woongarrah, Buttonderry and Hue Hue Creeks come together at Porters Creek wetland, which drains to the Wyong River. The catchment boasts natural conservation areas, wetlands, rural, commercial and residential areas, including Jilliby, Warnervale, Wadalba , Kanwal and Hamlyn Terrace.
The Porters Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study (2011) examined the flood hazards and identified and compares various flood risk management options.
Council is currently formulating the Porters Creek Floodplain Risk Management Plan, based on the outcomes of the Porters Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and it will be placed on public exhibition in the middle of the year.
