Children's Book Week

Children's Book Week, 16 - 22 August is run by the Children's Book Council of Australia. The theme of the 2003 Children's Book Week was Oceans of Stories

The Children's Book Council of Australia aims to foster children's enjoyment of books through:

• Children's Book of the Year Awards.
    
• Providing information on and encouragement to authors and illustrators.
    
• Organising exhibitions and activities during Children's Book Week.
    
• Supporting children's library services.
    
• Promoting high standards in book reviewing.
