Tuggerah Information Centre and Library

One of the most popular libraries in Wyong Shire is housed at Tuggerah shopping centre

Tuggerah Library and Information Centre provides a library facility as well as conducting a wide range of Council business. Ratepayers can pay their rates, lodge building or development applications, gain a dog licence or make general Council enquiries at this busy centre.

Tuggerah library and Information Centre also boasts a collection known as 'local studies', which is made up of books, magazines, local newsletters and pamphlets on the local area plus local newspapers - some bound and others on microfiche and microfilm.

The Family History Collection is also housed at Tuggerah. It consists of books, magazines, fiche, film and CDROM. If you are tracing your family tree this is a good place to begin. The local Wyong Family History Group helps individuals with their research on the second Saturday of the month at the Tuggerah library.

The library also conducts Genealogy On The Net at the Tuggerah branch each month. A staff member helps a small group surf their way through the internet with ease. Tuggerah Library also has access to a number of excellent databases which are useful for students of all ages. Information Services staff will help students to search these databases. For more information phone Susan or Wes on (02) 4353 5271.

The library section has some 59,000 items. It also has CDROMS available for loan,music CD's,videos, hearing books for the sight impaired and a multi-media information centre accessing a network of CD ROMS. The Internet is available for patrons to access.
