Collaborative art

What's it all about? Professional artists working with other professionals and community members.

Council has run a range of 'Artist in Community' projects. These involve artists collaborating with community members to create temporary or permanent artworks for specific places.

These projects are valued as a great way to have residents of different lifestyle, ages and cultural backgrounds exchange their knowledge and ideas through a range of mediums under the guidance of professional and amateur artists.

Council engages professional artists with skills in collaborations, communication and leadership as well as the chosen medium.

Some Artist in Community projects involve a mentoring component, whereby emerging or student artists become part of the project team to gain professional development experience.
