Northlakes Pre-School and Children’s Centre
Ph: (02) 4390 8370
Northlakes is Wyong Council’s newest pre-school and children’s centre, opening its doors in January 2004.
Located away from the main road and next to Camp Breakaway, the new, purpose-built centre is spacious and airy.
The centre boasts reverse cycle air conditioning for year-round comfort, electronic security entry, and off street parking.
Staff take pride in maintaining the centre at the highest standard.
There are separate rooms and outdoor play areas for children aged 0-3 years and children aged 4-5 years. This helps to accommodate the differing needs of the different age groups.
The centre provides a range of tailored programs for children aged six weeks to school entry.
Older children benefit from an effective school readiness program which has been developed by staff in conjunction with local schools.
Staff believe the early childhood years are extremely important.
Each child’s individual needs should be recognised and accommodated in a calm, fun and welcoming environment which promotes play, acceptance of diversity, creativity, curiosity and an enjoyment of learning.
The centre offers a nurturing, relaxed and happy environment in which children explore and learn as they play. Self esteem, language, socialisation and self-help skills are encouraged in all age groups.
Northlakes is joined by a family support worker from the Benevolent Society three days a week.
This worker is able to seek out and pass on information to families and staff in relation to a range of issues. She is also available for consultation on a formal or informal basis.
