Sports Equipment and Recreational Grant

Wyong Shire Council provides financial assistance for local ‘non profit’, sporting and recreational organisations to increase the participation in or reduce the barriers to all types of sport, recreation and leisure activities within Wyong Shire.

All applications are considered on merit and funding is provided for sport and recreation equipment only.

There is one funding round each year, generally in September. The annual amount of funds is $50,000. Each round will be advertised in the Central Coast Express Advocate.

Council invites all not-for-profit organisations to submit an application for the current round by 4.30pm on Friday 21 October 2011.

Sportsperson Grant

Wyong Shire Council provides financial assistance to help local sportsmen and sportswomen pursue and develop their careers by participating in representative competition at a regional level. 

Applicants must be: a resident of Wyong Shire; registered with their Central Coast Sports Association or governing body; competing with a club using facilities within the shire and applying for funding for an activity that takes place in Australia.

There are a number of funding rounds during each financial year.  Funding will be advertised in the Central Coast Express Advocate.

A maximum of $250 per application can be claimed on competition registration fees, transport and accommodation expenses.

CCROC – Sporting and Cultural Sponsorship 

The Central Coast Regional Organisation of Councils, which comprises of Wyong Shire and Gosford City Council’s, provide funding to aid residents who are selected by a National, State or Regional Body to participate in a recognised sporting or cultural activity. 

Applicants must be: residents of either Gosford City or Wyong Shire Council areas for the past two years; registered with a Central Coast Sporting Association or Cultural body and able to provide evident that they have been selected to participate on a merit basis.

Amounts of up to $1,000 are available for individual sponsorships and up to $5,000 for team/group sponsorships.

In return for financial assistance, the two councils require recipients to promote the Central Coast in the local, regional, interstate and international arenas.

Other Sources of Funding

A number of grants are available that provide financial support to clubs wishing to undertake capital improvements to facilities. Clubs are required to contact Council’s Open Space and Recreation Section for advice PRIOR to making any application that involves construction of any works on a Council sportsground.
