Family history

Tuggerah Library has books, periodicals, microfiche/film and CD-ROMs as well as a dedicated Research Room and reading area to help you with your family history research. You can also use Ancestry.com and Find my Past Australia, United Kingdom and Ireland for free at Tuggerah Library, whilst all branches have free access to the Find my Past databases.
The family history collection is for use in Tuggerah Library only, but a good start is to search the library catalogue under family history. We have also created a booklet to help you start your family history research.
Beginning your Family History (583.00 KB). We have a range of 'How To' guides that are available for short term loan only, with a limit of 2 items per patron.
Bookings are essential for the family history computers, microfiche and microfilm readers at Tuggerah Library. These can be reserved for up to two hours at a time by telephoning (02) 4350 1560. To make a booking to use Find my Past at another Branch, please contact them directly.
Looking for the ARK or electoral rolls?
Family historians can also use the Archives Resource Kit provided by NSW State Records at Tuggerah Library or they can check old
Electoral Rolls (145.50 KB). Current electoral rolls can only be seen in person at an office of the Australian Electoral Commision.

Need help with your research?
If you need help with your family history research, a Wyong Family History Group volunteer will be available at Tuggerah Library on the third Saturday morning of each month, except for December- January. There's no need to book - just come to the Library between 10:00am and 2:00pm with your family history research questions.
