Youth Engagement Strategy

The Youth Engagement Strategy is about improving the quality of life and wellbeing of young people in the Shire and supporting young people to achieve their goals and aspirations and be active valued members of the community

The Strategy shows how we will partner with young people, community and business to bring about change and opportunities for young people. But we need to all work together to make it happen. 

The strategy was driven by a team of young people and youth sector representatives to work alongside Council staff to carry out the engagement phase. This kept the process real. From youth centres, skate parks, young mum groups, primary and high schools, girl guides and youth accommodation services, hundreds of young people were engaged. At all times, young people have been active partners in the process and will continue to be active and equal partners in its implementation.
