Waste and Recycling

Asbestos Amnesty

Wyong Shire Council has been granted EPA funding to run an asbestos amnesty program.  Contrary to reports in the Central Coast Express on 1 October - this program will take place in 2015 not in November this year.  We will certainly keep you up to date on the timing of the program.  See Council's media release for more information on the program.  Check out our asbestos page for information on how to safely handle and dispose of asbestos.

Free Waste Voucher

This month each household will receive a free waste voucher entitling you to drop off one free load of waste to the Buttonderry Waste Management Facility from November 1 until the end of January.  Ratepayers that live in their rateable property and pay in quarterly instalments will receive their free waste voucher with the rates notice this month.  Ratepayers that live in their rateable property who have paid their rates in full for the year and renters will receive the voucher separately in the mail.

See the Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
