Water
Management Plans
More than 400 Central
Coast businesses and other organisations are helping
to save water under Level 3 restrictions.
Businesses and organisations who use more than 3.5
megalitres of water a year, as well as hotels, motels,
resorts, caravan parks and public swimming pools are
working to develop and implement water management plans
to reduce their water usage.
Under level 2b restrictions, the Wyong and Gosford
Councils focused on consumers of more than six megalitres
of water a year. There were 200 of them, but that figure
doubled once Central Coast restrictions rose to level
3. They must all develop and implement water
management plans.
Audits of the affected businesses will
clarify the amount of water each is using; what water
saving practices they are implementing; and how much
water they are saving.
