There'll
be something for everyone at Australia Day 2009 celebrations
in Wyong Shire.
The
national day will be marked by a
variety of community events and activities.

Day ambassador. As in past years, this year’s
Wyong Shire activities will be launched at Canton Beach,
Toukley, on Australia Day Eve, January 25.
Aussie-style entertainment, including bush tucker,
whip cracking, pony rides, farm animals, gold panning,
lamington making, stalls and rides will start at 4.30pm.

On January 26, celebrations will include activities
in Memorial Park at The Entrance and at Wyong’s
race club.
At The Entrance, multicultural entertainment, including
bands, dancers, wood chopping, and vintage farm machinery
will be held from 11.30am – and will climax with
fireworks at 9pm. See additional

At
Wyong race club, the celebrations - including bands,
a sausage sizzle, bush poetry, face painting, slot
car racing, a jumping castle, market stalls and country
music – will run from 8.30am to 1pm.
An Australia
Day citizenship ceremony, flag raising and presentation
of Australia Day Awards will be held at 10am.
