| Parks and Playgrounds
There is currently over 156 developed parks for public recreation in Wyong Shire.
Large parks are classified into two main types by the extent and intensity of development. The first are those on ridgelines which may have BBQ areas and play equipment but also emphasise tree planting.
The second provide for settings which can support large numbers of people in social groups. They generally provide large open areas for informal activities as well as BBQ areas and playgrounds. Small parks provide easily accessible open space for family based recreation and are the most common open space in residential areas.
