Warnervale on the move

Albert Hamlyn Warner, early landowner of the Wyong areaThe history of Warnervale

Albert Hamlyn Warner, after whom both Warnervale and Hamlyn Terrace are named, was a prominent landowner in the early 1900’s.

He was probably one of the Wyong area’s most notable residents. In 1893, Warner acquired 12,000 acres of land, which he later subdivided and sold.

His family home, ‘Hakone’, which was built in 1912, is now part of the Strathavon complex onthe banks of the Wyong River.

The home was named after a park which the well travelled Warner saw on his trips to Japan. Hakone Road, which borders the new Town Centre at Warnervale, is also named after the park.
