Date of the next Local Government Election

On 12 May 2016 the Local Government (Council Amalgamations) Proclamation 2016 (“the Proclamation”) was made, resulting in the constitution of the Central Coast Council as well as the dissolution of both the former Gosford City Council and the former Wyong Shire Council. The Proclamation set the date for the first election of the Central Coast Council as:
Saturday 9 September 2017

Voting in the Central Coast Local Government area

15 Councillors will be elected to represent Central Coast for the 2017 - 2020 term of Council. The Central Coast Local Government Area is divided into five wards or areas, with each ward having three councillors. Eligible residents vote for the candidate in their own ward to elect the three councillors.

Election of Mayor

The Mayor of the Central Coast Council will be elected by the Councillors within the first month of their term.
