Local Government Reform
Central Coast now has one Council. The anticipated merger of the Wyong Shire and Gosford City Councils into the Central Coast Council was proclaimed by the NSW Government of Thursday 12 May.
The two former Councils and in the place of Mayors and Councillors, Ian Reynolds has been appointed as administrator by the NSW Government.
Mr Reynolds has over 35 years experience in local and state government sectors and has an in-depth knowledge of urban planning, infrastructure planning and funding, public policy and administration.
Rob Noble who was the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the former Wyong Shire Council is now the Chief Exective Officer of Central Coast Council.
Next Local Government elections
Mr Reynolds will remain as Administrator of Central Coast Council until the next NSW Local Government elections to be held on 9 September 2017.
15 new Councillors will be elected across 5 wards. With three Councillors elected in each ward:
- Gosford West Ward
- Gosford East Ward
- The Entrance Ward
- Wyong Ward
- Budgewoi Ward
