Tourism on the Central Coast

Central Coast Council's key focus is highlighting and leveraging the appropriate features of the region to see growth in the local tourism industry. Council also aims to inspire our local community to value the impact of the visitor economy.

Tourism Research Australia data last indicated that the tourism industry contributed an estimated $878 million to the Central Coast regional economy (5% of Central Coast's gross regional product) and directly employed approximately 6,200 people (4.1% of Central Coast's employment) contributing 1 in 24 jobs in the Central Coast economy.

Marketing and Industry Services

Central Coast Council is committed to investment in tourism for the region. Council has recently appointed The AFFINITY Partnership to collaborate with Industry and Government stakeholders to deliver tourism and industry services on the Central Coast.

AFFINITY, Surfer Rosa Communications and MyTravelResearch.com are a consortium of three companies appointed by Council to deliver tourism marketing and industry services, with AFFINITY being the lead agency. 

Bringing together this consortium of three companies, The AFFINTY Partnership's expertise extends across international and domestic tourism marketing; data-driven strategies; partnership; tourism research and insights; and facilitating membership and customer loyalty programs, as well as training and mentoring for the tourism industry.

Destination Management Plan

The Central Coast Destination Management Plan 2018-2021 (DMP) is the strategic framework for Tourism on the Central Coast. The purpose of the DMP is to guide tourism developement and destination management for the next five years; to help ensure the long-term viability and sustainability of this vital sector for the Central Coast economy.
