Congratulations to the winners
27 June 2016 - Council congratulates the 10 winners of the Wyong Regional Chamber of Commerce 2016 Annual Business Awards announced on Saturday.  It is fantastic to see the high calibre.  Overall winner was Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast.

12 May 2016 - NSW State Government announces the amalgamation of the former Wyong Shire and Gosford City councils into one of NSW largest local govenrment areas, the Central Coast Council.

Local roads, recreational facilities get big boost in Council’s budget
11 May 2016 - Wyong Shire Council’s plan to deliver $359.4 million in essential services and quality infrastructure for the growing community is now out on public exhibition.  The 2016-17 Strategic Plan details a $258.0 million operating spend and a $101.4 million capital works program while maintaining the budget bottom line with a projected surplus of $14.9 million. 

Expansion of poultry farm at Kulnura given the green light
13 April 2016 - A new poultry shed with the potential to house 42,000 chickens will be built at an existing poultry farm at Kulnura after Council approved the development application, taking total capacity to 200,000 chickens.

Tenders called for first stage of Regional Sports Complex
11 Apr 2016 - Tenders have opened for the first stage of works at the Tuggerah Regional Sports Complex which will deliver nine sporting fields across 18 hectares of land at Lakes Road Tuggerah.  The Australian Government through its National Stronger Regions Fund will dedicate $10 million to this development which is also supported to the tune of $13.71 million by Wyong Shire Council.

Story of Mao's Last Dancer at Wyong's new Art House
14 March 2016 -  Award-winning theatre company for young people, Monkey Baa, will make its Central Coast debut with The Peasant Prince, a new Australian play based on the incredible story of Mao’s Last Dancer.  The Peasant Prince will be performed from 7 to 9 May as part of the opening season program for The Art House, Australia’s newest regional performing arts centre.  The Art House will open its doors in April with official opening celebrations scheduled for May 2016.  For more information on the opening season program go to www.thearthousewyong.com.au

Prime Minister opens Central Coast Mariners Centre of Excellence

4 March 2016 - The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull MP, Prime Minister of Australia along with Mrs. Karen McNamara MP, Federal Member for Dobell in conjunction with the Central Coast Mariners opened the Centre of Excellence.    

Applications open for Wyong business awards
3 March 2016 - Applications are now open for the Wyong Regional Chamber of Commerce business awards, in a number of categories.  The Awards will be announced at a Gala dinner on 25 June 2016.

100 new jobs as Tip Top acquires Kellogg's factory
11 Feb 2016 - Tip Top Bakeries will invest millions of dollars in setting up a new food manufacturing facility at a 25,000sqm site in Wyong Shire, creating 100 new jobs.

Woolworths is coming to Wadalba 
9 Dec 2015 - A new $10 million Woolworths Supermarket has been approved to be built on a 1.5 hecatre site adjacent to the Wadalba Village Centre, creating around 470 local jobs, including around 140 during construction.

07 Dec 2015 - The Federal Government commits to $10million in funding towards Stage 1 of a new regional sporting and recreation complex on 18 hectares in Wyong Shire.

25 Nov 2015 - Wyong Shire Council will release land for suitable to provide over 180 new homes for the Shire and kick start residential development around the new Warnervale Town Centre.

$26m Masters Homemaker Centre DA approved for Wyong Shire
19 November 2015 -- The first Masters Homemaker Improvement Centre has been given unanimous development approval today.  Masters proposes to invest over $26 million creating over 130 jobs.

$40 million key site redevelopment set to transform Toukley
11 Nov 2015 - A new Masterplan has been adopted for a privately owned Iconic Site in Toukley, known as the Rustrum site. The Masterplan vision is for a ten storey mixed use residential and tourism development alongside an upgraded Toukley Gardens with impressive lake views and improved foreshore accessibility.   
 
Council welcomes plans for upgrade of Pacific Highway
28 Oct 2015 - NSW Government's Roads and Maritime Services’ (RMS) has released plans for the multi-million dollar Pacific Highway upgrade through Wyong town centre.

Major upgrade to The Entrance Waterfront starts next week

A $3.5 million upgrade to The Entrance Waterfront precinct will begin next week with landscaping works followed by the installation of new paving along the shopfronts.

First suburbs in north Wyong Shire switch on to NBN
07 Oct 2015  -  Wyong Shire Mayor Doug Eaton OAM has today officially welcomed new fast broadband services that are now available in northern Wyong Shire via the national broadband network.

Bumper month delivers $64 million investment in Wyong Shire
24 Sep 2015  -  During August, 147 DAs worth $64 million were approved, the highest result so far this calendar year. The developments have the potential to create 640 local jobs.

Revised planning proposal to deliver 1200 houses for Wadalba
24 Sep 2015  -  The Wadalba East Land Owners Group (WELOG) has put in a request to Council to progress a rezoning proposal for a 143 hectare site in Wadalba to create 1200 housing lots. 

Theatre specialists awarded million dollar contract to fit out Art House
24 Sep 2015  -  Council has awarded the contract to fit out the state-of-the art conference and performing arts centre in the heart of Wyong to Jands Venue Engineering.

Multi-million dollar train facility to create hundreds of local jobs
16 Sep 2015  -  Transport for NSW is proposing to locate a new multi-million maintenance facility for their next generation Intercity Train fleet in Wyong Shire, creating hundreds of new jobs at a site in Kangy Angy.

Council posts record surplus for the 2014-15 financial year
10 Sep 2015  -  Council posts record surplus while still investing significantly in essential services with $86.3 spent on capital works.  This financial year the investment will be even greater with $105 million of works in the pipeline.

Rezoning will allow the Tuggerah Regional Sporting Complex to go ahead
9 Sep 2015  -  Land at Lake Road, Tuggerah, known as Pioneer Dairy will be rezoned for public recreation to allow for the development of a regional sporting complex.

More housing options on the way for Warnervale
9 Sep 2015  -  Council has given the green light for 40 houses at Jack Grant Avenue in Warnervale.  The 455.7 hectare site will be home to a variety of housing options for the community with lots to range from 510m2 to 1,407m2in size.

Bunnings identifies new home at Lake Haven
9 Sep 2015  -  Bunnings looks to invest over $20 million to relocate to a bigger site in Lake Haven.  The new store will employ around 160 full time and part time staff. 

RMS commits to funding the Link Road to Warnervale 
9 Sep 2015  -  The Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) has committed over $25 million for planning and commencement of construction of the Link Road that will open up Warnervale developments.   The Link Road is crucial to connecting the Wyong Town Centre with the Warnervale Town Centre and M1, providing an alternative route to the Pacific Highway and significantly reducing travel times for motorists.
