Wyong Shire Community Plan 2008 - 2013 aims to reflect the community's challenges, aspirations and key social issues.
More than 1,300 residents highlighted the importance of community, networking, “local” places and spaces, community centres, parks, playgrounds, cafes, barbeque area, walking tracks and cycleways, to bring people together and build a sense of pride and identity.
Residents were keen to be actively involved. They feel they can offer something positive to further Wyong Shire as a good place to work with Council for the common good of all residents.
Other important issues raised included local education, lifelong learning and employment opportunities; good health and access to quality health services; transport systems for ease of travel; community safety; diversity; valuing young people; preserving the natural environment and balancing development of the built environment; community information and participation.
