Sport and recreation development
Council is focused on developing opportunities for people to participate in sport and recreation with a major focus on organisation and promotion of grass roots activities for the Shire's community.
Facility, program or service improvements
We work with Wyong Shire sport clubs, groups and associations to find grants and other funding to help improve facilities, infrastructure, programs, services or sports events and increase sport and recreation participation.
If your organisation has an idea about how you’d like to make improvements to a sporting facility, would like to develop a new participation program to get people active and involved, or would like to bring a sport and recreation event to Wyong Shire, please contact Council’s Sport and Recreation Development Manager on 4350 5572 or at email@example.com.
Council provides a number of grants that may match your sport and recreation club, association or groups' needs and wants as well as opportunities to increase participation. If you would like to discuss your project idea call Council’s Sport and Recreation Development Manager on 4350 5572 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are representing the Central Coast at regional, State or National level, and are suffering financial hardship, you may qualify for our Sport and Cultural Sponsorship Program (SCSP), which aims to recognise individuals and groups that achieve excellence in their field and represent the Central Coast.
The Australian Sports Commission’s Local Sporting Program helps young people aged 12-18 with cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing, coaching or officiating at an official National Sporting Organisation (NSO) endorsed state or national sporting championships or a School Sport Australia national championship. Grants of $500 are available for successful individual applicants and $3000 for successful team applications.
