Free Microchipping Day

Pet owners are encouraged to come along to our FREE Microchipping Day, Saturday 18 February, at the Animal Care Facility, Depot Road Charmhaven and take the first important step in responsible pet ownership. Microchipping helps us identify your pet if they ever go missing.

The second step is registration, a one off payment, payable once the animal reaches six months of age.

All residents who come along to have their pet microchipped and/or registered will also receive a Happy Pet gift pack!

A check your chip service and sausage sizzle will also be available on the day.

The free microchipping service only, will also be available at the Central Coast Animal Care Facility, Pateman Road Erina, on the same day, from 10am-4.30pm.

Update Your Details

The Free Microchip Day also provides a great opportunity for pet owners to update their pet’s details. If you move house or change your contact details, it is really important that you update the pet registry so that you will still be contactable in the event of your pet becoming lost or straying. If you come along to the Free Microchipping Day and update your pet’s details, you will receive a free Happy Pet Gift Pack!

Many pet owners aren’t aware, but they risk a $275 fine if their pet is not microchipped or their details aren’t up-to-date.

Pet owners are reminded that dogs taken to the Free Microchipping Day must be kept under control and on a lead at all times. Cats must be in a cat carrier. Owners must pick up any faeces. Council Rangers will also be there on the day to answer any questions on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of microchipping and lifetime registration.

Bookings are not required, but numbers are limited. Contact 43505377 for more details.
