Wyrrabalong Reservoir Operational Changes All Streets

Residents and businesses in the afore mentioned suburbs are advised they may experience changes in water pressure over the next few days due to operational changes to the water supply system.

The water supply in the area will not be interrupted and is safe to drink.

Although Council does not  expect any incidences of discoloured water as a result of these changes we recommend as a precaution, people in affected areas and surrounds should check their tap water before washing clothing.
If you experience discoloured water whilst washing clothes, keep the clothes wet and rewash them when the water clears to minimise the risk of staining.

It is expected that any discoloured water will clear overnight.

If discoloured tap water is experienced, residents are advised to run the front garden tap for 60 seconds every half an hour to check if the water has cleared.
If the water does not clear after an hour please advise Council on 4350 5555 (24 hours a day).

If you experience low water pressure or discoloured water for more than an hour please call Customer Contact on 4350 5555.
Halekulani 19 July to 3 August 2018  Water Mains Cleaning Program All streets Residents may notice a drop in water pressure, discoloured water or a slight chlorine odour and taste after the mains are flushed. This is normal for this type of process and Council assures residents that their water will remain safe to drink.

Discoloured water may be experienced for a short period of time after these works.
Affected residents are advised to check water before washing clothes.

Please note:

It is important to keep water taps closed while water supply is off.
Care should be taken where gas, electric or other water heating systems, bath heaters, coppers, washing machines, etc. are installed to see that these appliances are not used until the water supply is restored and the following precautions taken.

Once water has been restored, open cold water taps very slowly at first to allow any trapped air to escape. In the event of discoloured water, residents are advised to run the front garden tap for 60 seconds every half an hour to check if the water has cleared.
