What did 2015 look like?

Watch it here.

Wyong Lakes Festival made a splash on Wyong Shire this November. Managed by Wyong Shire Council, Wyong Lakes Festival was staged over nine days with two main weekends, one in the North of the Shire and one South of the Shire.
The program kicked off with a unique event located at Long Jetty where The Water Colour Society planned to break the record for the most Plein Air Painters in one spot, named Painting by the Lake.
The Shires Memorial Park at The Entrance was on show with light features surrounding the park, live onstage entertainment and a planned laser light spectacular with fireworks to accompany. This event ended up being cancelled at 6pm, however the park was ecstatic with people prior.
Memorial Park was again the entertainment hub, with free activities on Sunday such as captivating roving street entertainment and enchanting musical performances plus a free breakfast, food demonstrations, a skate and fishing competition, stand up paddle boarding races plus much more hands on activities, something for the whole family.
WLF continued mid-week with some very fun, inviting and educating activities including hands on informative workshops, on the water activities and a great seminar to finish.
As part of WLF exciting wrap up weekend program, we had a TriWyong at Budgewoi where competitors took to the land, road and sea to compete in Wyong’s first Triathlon. We continued in the afternoon where Together for Toukley opened their doors to the foreshore of Canton Beach and provided a showcase of entertainment including water based obstacle course, other super fun water activities both in the water and on land plus free food for the community.
Unfortunately due to terrible weather we had to cancel Sundays jam packed day and the final day of the festival.
The Festival made its mark with over 35,000 attendees over the period and a total economic impact of $1.5million.Thank you to our two event partners Star 104.5 and Love our Living Lakes.
